EMPD operation nets seven suspects in Springs and Putfontein

A targeted EMPD operation led to the arrest of seven suspects, including wanted criminals linked to serious offences such as murder, kidnapping and attempted murder.

The EMPD arrested seven suspects between the ages of 23 and 56 during an operation carried out in the Springs and Putfontein areas on April 29.

According to the EMPD, four undocumented men were arrested in Springs for not having any passports.

“They were detained at the Springs Police Station and will appear in court soon,” the EMPD said.

The EMPD also discovered the whereabouts of a man wanted for murder and kidnapping. He was located and arrested and will appear at the relevant magistrate’s court.

The EMPD adds that another suspect was apprehended for house break-in and theft.

“It was later discovered that he was also involved in the attempted murder and kidnapping.

“Furthermore, a suspect wanted for malicious damage to property, was arrested at his residence in the Putfontien area,” the EMPD said.
