Springs seniors keep warm with lively bingo morning

Despite the chilly weather, the Springs Senior Citizens Club members gathered for a cheerful bingo morning.

Springs Senior Citizen Club hosted its monthly bingo morning on May 5, bringing together 22 seniors for a relaxed session of friendly competition.

Despite the cold weather, members enjoyed a memorable morning filled with multiple bingo line wins and full houses, with some participants securing both.

The club’s manager, Pauline Houghton spoke about exciting upcoming events, including a trip to the Barnyard Theatre in June.

“We are excited about that, as well as the annual Christmas in July. The members are already volunteering,” Houghton said.

She says events like wellness assessments they recently did help encourage the members to take care of their health. Houghton encouraged seniors to keep active and to join the club.

“Don’t just sit at home in front of the TV; you need to make that first step to come to the centre where you will meet like-minded people.

“We have many members who have lost their husband, wife, or their children moved away. Once you take that first step, you will never look back because there is always something to do,” she said.

Anyone interested in joining the club may call 011 811 0098.
