Stolen VW Polo recovered as EMPD arrests seven suspects in eastern Ekurhuleni
EMPD officers, working with SAPS detectives, arrested seven suspects for alleged immigration and criminal offences while recovering a reported stolen vehicle.
EMPD Eastern Region task team and tracing unit officers, with the SAPS Putfontein detectives, arrested seven male suspects for being undocumented, assault, and theft on July 8.
EMPD stated a reported stolen motor vehicle was also recovered during the operations in the Springs, Benoni and Boksburg areas.
“While conducting operations in the Springs area, the task team encountered a group of four men.

“Upon requesting identification, the men failed to produce any forms of identification or passports. They were arrested and taken to the Springs Police Station,” said the metro police.
In a separate operation, EMPD shared that officers received information about a stolen motor vehicle.
The metro police explained that the information led them to Marigold Street in the Villa Lisa area, where a blue VW Polo, which had been reported missing, was found abandoned.

All relevant stakeholders were summoned and the recovered vehicle was taken to a police pound for safekeeping.
On the same day, the tracing unit officers, together with SAPS Putfontein detectives, arrested three wanted suspects for assault, common assault, and theft in the Putfontein area.
All seven suspects were detained and are expected to appear before the relevant magistrate’s court soon.
