There will be no water in eMalahleni from Tuesday to Thursday

Water is only expected to be back on August 5.

Emalahleni Local Municipality is planning to undertake emergency critical works on the water supply system to accommodate connectivity of the new modular package plant and major water leaks.

This would mean working on the main raw water supply lines from Witbank Dam and thus pumping will be affected.

During this period, water will be supplied from the raw water storage quarry to maintain supply to the water treatment works.

The outage is planned for Tuesday, August 3 from 06:00 until 18:00 however the system will take time to recover and water is expected to normalise on August 5.

All affected house owners and businesses are requested to make necessary arrangements to endure this inconvenience for the period stated. Water trucks will be available only for hospitals, clinics, police stations, and schools.

“Consumers are kindly requested not to utilise water from their geysers during the period of no water as this will cause problems when the water is turned on again,” municipal spokesperson Mr Lebo Mofokeng told WITBANK NEWS.

Ga-Nala, Phola, and Ogies will not be affected by this water disruption. For queries or problems, please contact the municipal call centre at; 013 690 6222/6333 or 6444.
