Five suspects arrested for illegal firearms

Five male suspects aged between 22 and 36 were arrested.

Police in eMalahleni arrested five suspects who are facing charges of being in possession of three unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

Five male suspects aged between 22 and 36 were arrested in Watermeyer Street yesterday (November 18) after police spotted a suspicious blue Volkswagen Polo.

The suspects were apprehended when the police were patrolling the streets of eMalahleni as part of the newly implemented ‘Operation Festive Season’.

The suspects are expected to appear before Witbank Magistrate’s Court on Monday, November 21.

Police at this point said that more charges might be added as the investigation continues.

Station Commander of Witbank Police Station Brigadier Moses Bolton has commended the splendid work of the SAPS members.
