Man robbed at knifepoint on OR Tambo Road

The pedestrian was searched and robbed of his valuables after two men approached him with a knife.

A man was robbed at knifepoint on OR Tambo Road in the early hours of September 1.

According to the police, the man said he was walking along the road around 06:30 when two men approached him.

The men reportedly pointed a knife at the victim before searching him and taking his phone and wristwatch. They fled the scene thereafter.

A case was opened at Witbank SAPS, and investigations are under way.

“We urge the public to be vigilant, especially when they are walking on foot, and to try not to carry valuable items with them,” said Warrant Officer David Ratau from Witbank SAPS. “However, if they find themselves cornered, they must do as they are told by the criminals so that they can spare their lives.”
