Magagula finishes 7th at SA Cross-country Championships

Mbekezeli Magagula finished seventh in the boys U12 3km at the South African Cross-country Championships in Pretoria, continuing his impressive rise as one of Mpumalanga’s promising young athletes.

Nkangala Athletic Academy’s (NAA) Mbekezeli Magagula continued to showcase his potential when he finished seventh in the boys U12 3km race at the South African Cross Country Championships in Pretoria on September 5.

The talented Mpumalanga runner, who started with NAA at a young age, is regarded as one of the organisation’s promising young athletes and is being groomed for a bright future in athletics.

Focus shifts to provincial finals

Mbekezeli is the reigning Mpumalanga boys U12 Cross Country Champion and will now turn his attention to the Mpumalanga Schools Provincial Cross Country Championships in Secunda on Saturday, September 12, where he will compete for an opportunity to qualify for the National Schools Cross Country Championships.

Coach Emmanuel Mabaso believes Mbekezeli has a bright future ahead.

“Mbekezeli is the future of NAA and Mpumalanga athletics. He not only excels in athletics but is also academically strong, particularly in mathematics,” said Mabaso.
