Cyclists from eMalahleni used their time to train for the Mpumalanga Road Championships

Well many people took December month off doing exercises and used that time to relax and enjoy their holidays, cyclists from eMalahleni used this time to train for the Mpumalanga Road Championships.

This took place on Saturday, January 19 and Sunday, January 20 at the Forever Resort at Loskop.

Many cyclists from eMalahleni attended the Mpumalanga Road Championships, but only three cyclists from eMalahleni managed to get into the team.

On Saturday, January 19 it was the road race which started at Loskop Forever Resort and the cyclists cycled towards Middelburg, this started at 08:00.

Later that afternoon at 14:00 in the heat of the day, it was time for the time trial.

Once these two disciplines were completed the cyclists could rest their legs for the next day.

On Sunday, January 20 at 08:00 the cyclists got ready for the hill climb, where their legs would feel the burn as they climbed up a hill.

Once this was done, they could rest for a few minutes before the criterium would start at 10:00 at Loskop Dam resort.

After two long days of cycling the prize giving was held at 12:00 before all the cyclists made their way back home.

All the cyclists from eMalahleni really did well at The Mpumalanga Road Championships.

The cyclists from eMalahleni that have been selected for Mpumalanga team to represent Mpumalanga at the South Africa road champs; they are Andre Potgieter, Annelie Cronje and Jonathan Gautier.

Everyone in eMalahleni is behind these cyclists who represent Mpumalanga at the SA’s in February and April.
