Locals take top places at Crossing Boundaries race
One thing was for sure, no cyclist was coming back clean
With all the rain Mpumalanga had a few days before the race, cyclists knew no matter what they were going to get dirty at the Crossing Boundaries race.
The race took place on Saturday, February 16 on different farms out on the road towards Loskop Dam.
One thing was for sure, no cyclist was coming back clean after riding on the very wet, muddy farm lands.
The mud never hindered the cyclists as the cyclists still cycled hard.
The 70km cyclists started first, it was a tough race and lots of climbing was expected from these cyclists.
The leaders kept on riding hard as there was consistent competition out in the front group.
Last few kilometres was a fight until the end, as Andries Nigrini came in first, with Andre Potgieter from eMalahleni came in second and Damion Gomez from eMalahleni in third place.
In the 45km ride it was just as tough as the cyclists headed out on almost the same route but it was just a few kilometres shorter.
For the 15km race it was just a nice race just to stretch the legs.
For the non-cyclists and the little ones there was a 4.9km fun walk/run between the mielie fields that they could participate in while they waited for their loved ones to arrive from the cycle.
