MyStreetTV

MyStreetTV is the first local community-centred television station in Emalahleni which is led by a team of creatives from the area.

It is a culmination of a dream held by thousands within the community who desire a platform to express their voice for change and development, to grow talent and entertain, to learn and prosper through entrepreneurship.

“MyStreet TV is an opportunity for every resident of Emalahleni to tell their story and mobilize action that results in sustainable socio-economic movement of community prosperity,” said Zoe Molatana.

This station is created and driven mainly by local young people and professionals from diverse communities and streets of Emalahleni. The aim of gathering all types of people to be part of such an initiative is to showcase their diversity as well as that of the city.

The channel does not only want to exchange mindsets, social ideas and lifestyles between every single street in Emalahleni but it also wants to serve as an information epicentre  and advertising platform for entrepreneurs,  businesses, social and government leaders  and employees to improve customer service between providers and receivers of various goods and products.

“The channel is aimed at developing the community and hopefully eradicating the drug and crime problem eventually, also encouraging the youth to be diverse about skills development,” said Zoe. She works alongside a team of videographers, writers, directors and photographers who all collectively shared the vision of empowering their community. The MyStreetTV channel will open opportunities for ordinary people who would like to tell their story based on how they see it in their eyes.

The official pilot episode will be aired on Tuesday, May 5 during a preview screening. “Unfortunately we could not invite everyone but we are certain that with the viewers on the day we will be able to expand to a broader audience soon,” concluded Zoe.
