Hit over the head and abandoned in a field

Mr Abdulkadir Usuf was robbed outside his gate after returning home from business.

Usuf returned from Vosman to his residence in eMalahleni at about 21:00 on August 10. As he stepped out of his Isuzu bakkie three men approached him, two of them were wielding firearms.

“One hit me with the hilt of the gun across the cheek, they then searched me and pushed me to the back of the bakkie,” said Usuf.
One suspect drove the bakkie to the old Ogies road where they turned off and stopped in the field, roughly a kilometre from the road.

“They tied my feet using my shoe laces and left me in the field. Once they drove off I managed to free my hands and walked on foot back to town,” Usuf.

When he returned to his home, Usuf asked a friend for a lift to the police station where he reported the hijacking and robbery.
