Del Judor house robbery leaves man hospitalised

SAPS advises the public to always keep doors and windows locked to avoid house robberies.

A resident was left hospitalised after an intruder attacked him during a house robbery on Matthew Street in Del Judor on August 22 at 15:40.

The victim, who was rushed to hospital after the attack, told police he was standing in his kitchen when he was struck on the head from behind. As he fell to the ground, he saw a man wearing a face mask standing over him and repeatedly beating him.

The intruder then grabbed the victim’s cellphone and fled.

Police search for suspect

Police are investigating the case as they search for the suspect.

To prevent house robberies, SAPS advises residents to keep doors and windows secured at all times.

“Report any unusual or suspicious activity to the police, and lastly, know your surroundings and neighbours so that it can be easy for you to get help,” the SAPS said.
