Violent outbreaks keep police on their feet

The crime statistics from Vosman Police Station have shown that in the past week the police were kept busy by mostly the striking individuals around the Kwa-Guqa area.

The police did not take the law lightly and civilians were arrested in connection with other crimes. A total of 83 civilians were arrested.

One person was arrested for the transportation of prohibited plants; whilst another one allegedly shot his wife and was arrested for her murder; nine people committed theft; two forĀ  rape; nine for possession of drugs.

Altogether 10 persons were held for assaulting others with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, nine were arrested as part of the participants of the violent strike that broke out in eMalahleni over the past week, and one person sexually assaulted another.

A total of 13 illegal immigrants were issued with warrants of arrests after they failed to produce the necessary documentation; three were held for common robbery; three for shoplifting at Kwa-Guqa Mall; seven were found to have caused malicious damage to property; four had illegal fire-arms in their possession, five committed housebreaking and theft, and as the month nears its mid-month financial low only two people were found to be drinking in public and another two were driving under the influence of alcohol and a further and last two of the detainees were allegedly in possession of suspected stolen property.
