Robber makes off with laptop and other goods

While Mr Ranganai Mlambo was at work, his wife lay asleep at home unaware that a robber had broken into their home.

On August 17 an armed robber using a crowbar, managed to break through the security gate and wooden door, gaining entry to the Mlambo household in Steve Bantu Biko Street.

“He searched the first room and found nothing and moved onto the second room where my wife was sleeping. He had a torch in his hand, the light woke my wife,” said Mlambo.

Before his wife could react, the robber pointed a firearm at her and told her not to make a sound.
The robber told the woman to hand over her cellular phone. He also asked her about a laptop, but searching the room he found it before she had chance to reply.

The robber then covered Mlambo’s wife with a blanket and ordered her to remain there or he would shoot her.
He continued to search the room taking a number of items before fleeing the home.

“My wife is doing okay now, but was unsettled by the whole experience,” ended Mlambo.
