A woman and her husband were riding their mountain bikes on the Old Middelburg road when they where held up at knife point.
Ms Linda Muire and her husband Jakes were riding towards town from Jackaroo Park on Saturday, August 22 at 12:50.
Linda was riding behind her husband, when they noticed two unknown men approached them. They wanted Muire to hand over his bicycle, but Muire put up a fight.
The second suspect then approached Linda, pushed her to the ground and took her bicycle and rode into the bushes.
Muire then started chasing the second suspect on his wife’s bicycle. While Muire was chasing the suspect the other suspect, who was hiding in the bush, chased Linda with a knife down the Old Middelburg Road.
He then turned around and ran off.
“I am alright now, just have a few scratches on me from the fall, but otherwise I am fine. When I close my eyes at night I can still see them in front of me, but that is also getting better now,” said Linda.
