Witbank Magistrate’s Court on a roll

Crime does not pay as you end up behind bars after being sentenced.

On Monday, September 15 in Court C Christopher Steynberg appeared once again for possession or use of drugs. He was found guilty and was sentenced to a fine of R1500 or three months imprisonment.

The accused was not declared unfit to possess a firearm.
Last year Themba Mashego and Bongani Koko were arrested for theft in Ogies.

On Tuesday, September 9 both appeared in C Court at Witbank Magistrate’s Court.
Themba and Bongani were both found guilty of theft and each were sentenced to a R3 000 fine or six months’ imprisonment or R1 500 fine or three months, suspended for five years on condition that they are not convicted of the same crime during this period.

In B Court Thulani Mnisi appeared on Monday, August 25 for theft after he was arrested on Wednesday, July 30 in Ogies.
He was found guilty as charged and was sentenced to R1 000 or 90 days’ imprisonment, which is wholly suspended for three years.
