The bike was stolen on Sunday, November 2 at approximately 02:30 from a home in Tasbet Park Extension 2.
The owner of the bike, Mr Shane du Plessis, started looking for the bike at the crack of dawn.
He followed the tyre tread along the road and the tracks lead him to the reeds next to the N12 highway, before the S-bends.
Du Plessis and his friend kept looking for the bike among the reeds. Eventually the bright yellow of the bike stuck out and the superbike was found in the murky water.
Police were called to the scene and the bike was pulled out.
A breakdown in eMalahleni has already recovered five stolen bikes in various places.
Suspects steal motorbikes and push them into the reeds. Then a minibus with a trailer is arranged and it stops next to the highway late at night.
It loads the motorbike in between two mattresses, ties it down and drives away.
