Taalfees’ Sizo Nkosi earns spot in Mpumalanga Eagles U11 squad

The 10-year-old indoor cricket player continues his impressive sporting journey.

Taalfees learner Sizo Nkosi has proven he is aiming for the stars after being selected for the Mpumalanga Eagles U11 Action Cricket IPT Team for 2027.

His confidence, skill and determination helped him stand out among his peers to secure his place once again, having also been selected for the 2026 team that competed at Vaal Action Sports in June.

Proud mother celebrates growth

His mother, Ayanda Khalo, said: “As a mother, I could not be prouder of my son.”

She added that Sizo started playing indoor cricket when he was eight or nine years old, fresh from school mini-cricket.

“He used to see other boys wearing the IPT attire and mentioned that he wanted the same uniform – and he got to wear it this season,” she said. “Seeing him fall in love with the sport and mature in it warms my heart. There is nothing as heartwarming as that. I am normally the one on the sidelines, coaching and channelling players, but this time it is different. Now I get to be close by, helping my own son find himself, chase his dreams and build a name for himself at such a young age – he is only 10 years old.”

She concluded: “A big thank you to all the coaches, both from school and Action Sports, who played a part in this beautiful moment.”
