On the same day 15 minutes later, police managed to make another successful arrest. The police received information about a dealer in Kruger Street.
The police rushed there and found many men in the area. They searched them and found drugs in one suspect’s jacket, he was arrested.
Half an hour later on the same day, another arrest was made when the police were driving down Escombe Street and saw two men exchange something.
The police searched them. One of the suspects had a small black plastic bag in his right hand and 23 pinches were found inside. The suspect was arrested.
Thursday, November 13 was another successful day for the police as two more suspects were arrested. One was arrested for 21 pinches and the other for possession of two crack pipes.
On Saturday, November 15 at 11:30 police received information about a drug deal going on along the Ogies road.
When they arrived they again found a suspect in possession of dagga, he was arrested and taken to the cells.
For many people Sundays are a day of rest, but for drug dealers and the police it is not.
On November 16 at 11:00 as the police patrolled Beatty Street, they noticed a suspicious man just hanging around the bus rank. Police stopped and asked to search him. They found dagga to the value of R200.
Another drug deal was supposed to have happened on the old Ogies road, but the police managed to stop it before the sale went down. Two slopes of dagga were found in the dealer’s possession.
A woman was arrested when she was searched on Sunday, 200 pinches were found in her possession.
As police patrolled Walter Sisulu Street, they saw a group of young boys.
The police found drugs in one of the boy’s possession.
At 22:50 on Sunday in Klarinet the police found dagga on one of the suspects they searched and he was arrested.
“The police have been working hard and to make 10 positive arrests is good, as drug dealers and drugs are being removed from the streets of eMalahleni,” said Captain Eddie Hall, spokesperson for Witbank SAPS.
