They recovered 42 Plasma television sets that were stolen on November 14 from the Post Office.
Mr Dan Mbazima, an employee of the Post Office, said he was sleeping in his bakkie when a loud noise like someone breaking a window woke him up.
As he went to investigate, he was surprised by an armed man and five accomplices.
In a statement to the police Mbazima said the men ordered him to open the door. They apparently broke the burglar door and then covered him with a blanket.
He recalled that the men loaded the television sets in a Quantum minibus and drove off.
The following day, the Detective Tracing Team followed up on some leads they received which led them to a shack in Lynnville. There they found the televisions sets, still neatly stacked.
Five suspects were arrested for being in possession of stolen goods.
A case was also made against the owner of the house for defeating the ends of justice, after he refused to open the premises for the police.
A spokesperson for the Post Office said they are over the moon with the recovery. He said the SAPS deserve an applause for a job well done.
