Security guard held at gunpoint

Small shop robbed in Central Business District

Five men apparently held a security guard at gunpoint and forced him to open the roller doors protecting the shops.

The guard was apparently resting in his vehicle at about 01:30 on Friday, November 14 when he woke up to see a barrel of a gun.
There where three robbers that stood outside his vehicle and apparently another three waiting by the roller doors.

They dragged him out of his bakkie and forced him to unlock the roller door, the robbers also broke down the secondary burglar doors.
Once inside they covered the victim’s head with a blanket to prevent him from seeing what they were doing. They took expensive electronic equipment such as television sets, before driving away in a minibus.

A case was opened with the Witbank SAPS.
