Sgt David Ratau and his colleagues where returning from patrol when they noticed a suspicious person leaving the gates of the police station.
They stopped him and asked him about his business at the police station.
Apparently he was just getting paperwork done at the certification office.
Sgt Ratau and his colleagues suspected that he was trying to hide something. They searched the suspect and found that he was carrying three pinches of dagga.
The suspect was arrested and escorted back to the station but this time for an entirely different reason.
It was a surprise to the officers that this man would carry dagga on his person while at the police station for unrelated business. Other arrests made while police were on patrol this week includes an arrest for driving under the influence. At about 20:00 on January 7 they saw a car parked in the direction of incoming traffic. The officers took the driver for a blood test and he was arrested.
