Police warning to the public

Vosman Police Station has warned the public to be aware and to prevent house robberies.

A statement was issued after an increase in house robberies in some areas of KwaGuqa Extensions.

The police said that they have noticed a rapid increase of house robberies in their precinct from the beginning of November to date, averaging seven per week.
“A man would enter a house through the window or force open the door, point a firearm at the occupants, ordering them to hand over their cell phones. On three separate occasions the suspect has raped three women.”

According to the police, the suspect speaks IsiZulu but sounds foreign. He hides his face with a scarf or balaclava. Houses, which are not properly secured, are at risk.
“We appeal to the community where it occurred, mostly in Extensions 10, 11, 12 and 16, to be on the look-out especially from 02:00 till 04:00. Should one be suspicious, please seek help by shouting to your neighbours or call the police,” added the statement.
