CANSA in partnership with Kia Motors will be hosting the very first CANSA Car Sit-in this weekend.
All the action takes place from Friday to Sunday, March 20 to 22 at Highveld Mall’s Food Court.
De-Aan Palmer, social media journalist for WITBANK NEWS, will be updating readers on her progress and that of her friends, Andries du Preez (CANSA), Hendri Gouws (Highveld Mall), Charlene Beech (Miss Witbank) and Tenae Marriott (Miss World Junior).
For De-Aan this will be a personal journey that she describes as ‘daunting’.
“I know two people who are affected by cancer. For me this will be a personal journey as I can relate to this disease.”
She said different personalities in a confined space like the Kia can bring out the best and the worst of each participant.
“The first few hours should be fine, but as time drags on I don’t know what to expect,” she said.
De-Aan said, “If everything in the car get to a breaking point, you can step out and say you had enough. With cancer it is different, you don’t get to step out and say you had enough. This is a battle you did not choose.”

The public is urged to visit them and make generous contributions, all in awareness and support of CANSA Highveld Care Centre. Money raised with this project will go towards cancer related services in and around eMalahleni.
Andries feels that projects should be innovative and fun and is very excited for this all new, all real fundraising initiative. He urges the public to become part of it and have fun.
CANSA Highveld Care Centre would like to thank Kia Motors together with Highveld Mall and WITBANK NEWS for their partnership in this challenge of this project.
