A worker in his Red Ant uniform, was caught by other members of the Red Ants as he allegedly tried to steal a laptop from the demolition site on Wednesday, March 25.
The man was quickly caught out by his fellow workers as he tried to leave the premises where the Emalahleni Local Municipality and Red Ants were busy taking down illegal structures.
During the demolition project, the suspect had tried to conceal the laptop beneath his overall. He was detained on site where security and police were called to the scene.
As with the demolitions, the Red Ants showed zero-tolerance for the attempted theft. The suspect was handed over to police and taken to Witbank Police Station.
