Witbank Police make 86 arrests

Witbank Police, in co-operation with Community Policing Forum patrol teams, arrested 86 suspects last week.

The arrests that took place from April 8 to 13 include eight for shoplifting, nine for driving while under the influence of alcohol, three for general theft and 15 for assault.

Among the arrests were eight for the possession and dealing in drugs, three for illegal immigrants, four for fraud, one for crimen injuria and 12 for the possession of suspected stolen property.

Four arrests were made for residential burglary, two for rape, one for attempted murder, one for the possession of counterfeit goods, two for domestic violence, one for reckless or negligent driving and three for business robbery. Four for conspiracy to commit and offence, two for malicious damage to property and one for the possession of a dangerous weapon.
