Murder accused Mpilo Sibiya back in court for Marchein Tlou case

Sibiya has since remained in custody after abandoning his bail application on May 14.

Mpilo Sibiya is expected to appear in the eMalahleni Magistrate’s Court today. He is accused of murdering 37-year-old Marchein Tlou.

Family and community members are expected gathered at court as they continue seeking justice for Tlou, who was found dead in Hlalanikahle Phase 4 early this year.

This comes after his appearance on July 30 when the court postponed the case for further investigation.
Sibiya has remained in custody as he abandoned his bail application on May 14.

Harrowing discovery

The case stems from the harrowing discovery on April 27, when the lifeless body of Tlou was found in a rented room she reportedly shared with her partner, Sibiya.

Police reported that Tlou was found lying on a bed covered with a duvet and had sustained a fatal cut to her throat.
