Witbank SAPS makes 64 arrests

Witbank SAPS in co-operation with the Community Policing Forum (CPF) arrested 64 suspects for various crimes during the past week.

Ten people were arrested for shoplifting, nine for driving under the influence of alcohol and eight were arrested for general theft.

Five people were taken into custody for assault and another two were brought in for domestic violence. Four drug dealers and/or users were caught with drugs in the Central Business District (CBD) and illegal substances were confiscated.
Four people were arrested for malicious damage to property and four for reckless and negligent driving.
The police are investigating a case of attempted murder and the suspect remains in custody.

Four illegal immigrants were arrested, as well as: two suspects of common robberies, two accused of intimidation, one person caught drunk in public and one suspects who sold liquor without a licence.
