
Tempers were flaring this past week. When you look at the figures it is alarming to see that 22 suspects were arrested for assault. Two suspects were also arrested for domestic violence.
These arrests form part of the 76 arrests that was made by Witbank SAPS this past week.
Capt Eddie Hall, police spokesperson said nine suspects landed in trouble for shoplifting, four for general theft and four for being in possession of suspected stolen property.
Driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol still stays one of the biggest headaches. All together 10 drivers found themselves in the hot seat for this crime. Two were arrested for reckless and/or negligent driving.
Five suspects were arrested for possession and dealing in drugs. One suspect was arrested for malicious damage to property. Three were arrested for residential burglary and one for business robbery.
Assaulting a police officer is also a crime and that saw one suspect land behind bars. Three other suspects were arrested for rape, two for armed robbery, and four for fraud, two for common robbery and one for pointing of a fire arm.
