An ecstatic security guard does not start his day without thanking God that he is alive to tell his story.
Mr Isaac Mamaro, a Zimbabwean citizen was tied up while robbers ransacked the business he was assigned to look after.
“I could not believe it actually happened to me, five men overpowered me and tied my hands behind my back. Thank God they did not hurt me, especially being a foreigner,” Mamaro said.
Mamaro said only two of the five robbers had their faces covered with balaclavas.
“I think the two who covered their faces were scared I would recognise them.”
He is convinced that the robbers were at the business before as they knew exactly where the beams and security cameras were.
Ms Lourinda Botha, who works at Flexi Steel and Welding Works in Klarinet, said this was the second time they were robbed in four months.
“We have beams, security cameras, burglar proofing and security gates in place, but it still did not stop the robbers,” she said.
The robbers got away with two welding machines, petty cash and also money from cold drinks they sell.
