Two babies died

The baby was stabilized and moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

For the parents of two babies who died, it has been a very emotional time as both of them died in Witbank Provincial Hospital for different medical reasons.

On Sunday, September 13 at 08:30 a police constable who was on duty attended to a call at Witbank Provincial Hospital.

It’s alleged that a shack was set alight, the infant and her mother sustained burns.
When the constable arrived at the hospital she found the nurse who showed her the infant that was bandaged up.
According to the nurse, Christiana Guamda nine-months-old and her mother Ms Ortheasea Guamda, were brought in by Mr Orlando Guamda on Saturday night, September 12 as they both sustained injuries.

Ms Guamda was treated for her injures and she is still currently in Witbank Provincial Hospital.
Christiana later died in hospital, after sustaining burns to her whole body.
Late last month on Monday, August 24 at 18:00 parents of a 14-month old baby rushed to Witbank Provincial Hospital for treatment after he swallowed poison.

The baby was stabilized and moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

He later died in ICU from the poison which he consumed.
