An 18-year-old teenager was allegedly raped by a relative.
It was reported to the police that the 18-year-old, who works in one of the popular taverns in Ackerville, was taken by the 35-year-old relative to buy food at the Engen Garage in Moses Kotane Road in Ferrobank. The incident happened on Monday, September 28 at about 24:00.
The victim ordered food and was told to wait for 15 minutes while the food was being prepared. She told him this and while they were still waiting in the car, the suspect drove in the direction of Noble Road behind the garage into a deserted spot. The radio in the car was playing at high volume and the suspect switched it off when they reached the deserted spot.
After that, the victim said the suspect told her how much he loved her and how he can provide everything for her, going as far as taking her back to school. According to the victim, the suspect kept repeating the same words over and over again. He even promised to buy the victim a house and showered her with a pile of notes in his pocket.
After a few minutes the suspect tried to kiss her and she turned her head away, he undressed her and raped her. After that they went back to the garage to fetch the food. The victim cried before collecting her food but could not tell anyone what had happened because she was afraid of the suspect.
The victim was left at the tavern and she told her cousin what had happened. Her mother was called and other relatives were informed of the incident. The case was later reported to the police and suspects was arrested and charged for rape. The victim was taken to hospital.
