The accident happened on Saturday, October 3 at 06:20 when Ms Maria Rakgole was driving her white Nissan NP200 on the N4 highway towards Middelburg from KwaMhlanga to visit family.
In the vehicle travelling to Middelburg was Mr Petrus Mashiana (57) uncle of Rakgole, who was seated in the front. Also on the back of the vehicle were Ms Rejoice Mashiana (52) aunt of Rakgole, Ms Benzi Mashiana and Ms Pauline Sibanyoni.

“I lost control of the vehicle and it rolled. I think a tyre burst,” said Rakgole.
Rejoice, Benzi and Pauline all sustained serious injuries, while Petrus Mashiana and Rakgole only sustained minor injuries.
“I ran over to Pauline she still spoke to me and said she was fine. Then she did not say anything again. I ran over to Joyce, she was not breathing at the stage and tried to blow air into her mouth. Petrus went over to see how Maria was,” said Rakgole.

Rakgole then ran back to her vehicle where she found her cell phone and made calls for help.
