Ringo was nowhere near eMalahleni

The Taung Cultural Calabash Festival took place and Ringo Madlingozi performed there, but he was also scheduled to perform at the Emalahleni Spring Splash on the same day.

On Sunday, September 27 the Emalaheni Spring Splash took place at Witbank Dam. It was advertised that Ringo would appear on stage at the splash, meanwhile he was scheduled to perform at another concert.

Ringo Madlingozi was listed to perform at Emalahleni Spring Splash at Witbank Dam on Sunday, September 27.

Instead he performed at the Taung Cultural Calabash Festival on the same day.
The Tanug Cultural Calabash Festival took place at Taung Sports Grounds, Ringo performed there and appeared with Micasa, Taung Jazz Band, DJ Small just to name a few artists.

Ralph Tresvanto wrote a message on Facebook; “Ringo will be nowhere near Witbank, we are being taken for a ride, Tshepo Vilakazi why?”

Mr David Mofulwane, Ringo’s manager confirmed in a telephonic conversation that Ringo did not sing at the Emalahleni Spring Splash.

“He was scheduled to sing at the Taung Cultural Calabash Festival, where he did perform. I am not sure how it could be advertised that he was supposed to perform at the Spring Splash,” said Mofulwane.

Mr Josh Georgiou, Hugh Masekela’s manager however confirmed that they arrived in eMalahleni at 18:15 as he was scheduled to perform at 19:00.

“But by the time we got to the dam we were told that the stage had been vandalised,” said Georgiou.
