“We have only been in business for a few months now, this is the first time we have been robbed,” said Mr Lino Correia, co-owner of Blue Bottle Liquors.
The liquor business was robbed on October 4.
“They all posed as customers, next thing they had us at gunpoint at the door,” said Correia.
The robbery took place at about 12:30, when four men posing as customers walked into the store. Video footage revealed that a white Ford Ranger double cab drove around the area and four men got off around the corner from the bottle store.
The same Ranger pulled up in front of the bottle store, and this time two of the ‘customers’ inside the store walked out to look about. Then they returned into the store along with the four men who were dropped off around the corner.
“They drew their firearms and held us at gunpoint, they ordered us to the cash office and proceeded to open the safe. They then took the money and fled,” said Correia.
An undisclosed amount of money was stolen from the safe as well as the registers. The robbers did not fire off any shots and left the store owners and personnel unharmed yet shaken.
“The money is replaceable, our lives are not,” ended Correia.
