The gunmen kept shooting as the driver drove off, fearing for his life.
On October 16 Mr Matome Manasoa was picking up a friend in Duncan Street when he was shot at.
“I stopped to pick up my friend and noticed four men approach from the back of my car,” he said.
One of the suspects approached the driver’s window while the other three made their way to the passenger side of the vehicle. The suspect at the driver’s window attempted to break the window using the hilt of his gun but failed to do so.
“He pointed the gun my way and fired a shot through the window, it went under the ignition and near the gear stick. As soon as it happened I drove off,” said Manasoa.
While driving away from the suspects Manasoa heard them fire off at least another three rounds in his direction.
Fortunately for Manasoa he wasn’t hit in the shooting, he later went to the Witbank Police and opened a case of attempted murder, police are currently investigating.
