More people were arrested during the past week as Witbank SAPS continues to reduce drugs on the street of eMalahleni.
On Wednesday, November 28 an arrest was made when police officials received word about a person selling drugs in the Central Business District (CBD).
Police quickly moved in on the suspect where he was discovered talking to a man near the taxi rank. As the police approached the two men, the suspect allegedly threw a matchbox under a minibus to try and hide it from the police.
But it was too late to get rid of the evidence before it caught the eye of the law, the police took the matchbox and discovered six pinches hidden inside. The suspect was arrested on the scene. Just as the first arrest was made, the police made another arrest in the CBD as they found a man in possession of dagga in Eadie Street.
On Thursday, October 29 police caught a suspect in Old Coronation after receiving information about people in possession of drugs.
The suspect was found with 15 grams of dagga after police searched his residence and the suspect was arrested immediately.
Another arrest of the week was made on October 30, when the police was patrolling Jellicoe Street. A man was trying to conceal dagga in a ziplock plastic bag but failed to do so before the police caught him.
