Church yard used as a dumping place
Members of the Apostolic Faith Mission Total Deliverance Centre have been pushed to their limit
Members of the Apostolic Faith Mission Total Deliverance Centre have been pushed to their limit.
The members have been extremely annoyed by some community members who are dumping rubbish in their church yard. It all started in 2007 when the members moved to the area which was an empty stand and constructed their church building.
Rubbish is dumped at the Apostolic Faith Mission Total Deliverance Centre in Ackerville and this has been going on for a long time now.
Even before that time according to the church members some residents used to dump rubbish in the area. The place was then clean and cleared but the dumping did not stop. The church members went on to put a walled fence to protect their property but the wall was broken down and the dumping continued.
“We then periodically organised cleaning but even church members are now tired because this has been going on for a long time. The people are also dumping rubbish on top of water coming out of the ground and water is now flowing into the church building. Pipes cannot be put to control the water flow. Even the church walls are affected by the water flow and now showing some cracks,” stated church leader Ms Esther Ngwenyama.
She also added they have consulted ward councillor John Shiba about the matter. The church does not have water or electricity in their building. Water flowing inside the church has affected the carpet inside the church according to the members.
Water coming towards the church building after the dumped rubbish prevented water to pass at the side.
The members said they are trying their best to provide help in the community by providing spiritually upliftment and to pray for the sick. They also conduct bible classes as a way of reaching out to the community. The members are also prepared to help whenever they can.
The church is in partnership with Mr Sam Nape of the South African National Sunday School Association (SANSSA) whose mission is on educator development and support thereby ensuring learner development and community building.
The leadership of the church appeals to community for help to stop the dumping of the rubbish.
Even a brick fence wall was damaged around the church building as the dumping continued.
The church can be contacted for any spiritually uplifment at Ms Ngwenyama at: 072 403 9608 or Bishop Aaron Nkabinde at: 073 188 3508.
