This past week drug users along with drug dealers were busy ducking and diving from the SAPS but with no success.
These past few days Witbank Police was really busy dragging drug dealers to the cells when they caught three suspects in possession of dagga on November 21.
The first incident happened in Mandela Drive when the police on duty saw a by passer that looked suspicious. They stopped him and requested that he has to be searched, during the search they found two packets of dagga in his possession and arrested him on the spot.
In another incident the police was patrolling through Klipfontein extension 16 when one of the men in blue spotted a suspect running nervously into a shop. They cornered the suspect in the shop and found an unknown amount of drugs on him and he was arrested immediately.

Any indication of the use of drugs can get you arrested.
On November 25 the police got a tip off from one of eMalahleni’s residents saying there are some people busy using drugs at Klipfontein extension 8.
When the police arrived at the scene they searched a male and found some kind of device that is used to smoke some type of drug. The suspect was arrested for possession of a drug instrument even though no drugs were found on the suspect.
The spokesperson of Witbank Police Station, Cpt Eddie Hall confirmed that,
“it is totally legal to arrest a person in possession of a drug instrument because the suspicion of their use of drugs is very likely. After arresting a suspect on these charges the police have the right to withdraw blood from the suspect. If tested positive the charge will fall under the possession of illegal substances.”
This is a warning to all residents of eMalahleni of the seriousness for being arrested on a drug charge.
“It is extremely serious and the chances are that the odds are against you,” Hall concluded.
