Another truck hijacked after falling for the fake blue light tactic

In the hi jacking report the 47-year-old man alleged that he was on his way to the company’s deport situated at Benoni in Johannesburg.

Yet another driver has fallen into a trap where his truck got hijacked when suspects used the ‘we are the police’ blue light tactic.

The driver of the truck, Mr Albert Seroka was travelling on the N4 highway.

According to a police report it was on Tuesday, November 22 at 17:30 when the incident occurred.
In the report the 47-year-old man alleged that he was on his way to the company’s deport situated at Benoni in Johannesburg.

Seroka was stopped by a white Toyota with an unknown registration plate who pretended to be police official.
One suspect asked for his drivers licence and while Seroka was attending to him the suspect told him his brake lights were not working.

The report further states that minutes after, a second suspect came to the truck’s left hand side and allegedly pointed a firearm at Seroka.

He was forced to go to the back of the truck and two more suspects hopped in the vehicle, bringing the total number of suspects to four.

As they traveled on the highway a private car was following them.

Both his hands and feet were tied. They dropped him off at Heidelberg Road next to an industrial site.
In last week’s edition another truck hijacking story was reported about a similar tactic. In that scenario, two suspects hijacked a truck on the N12 highway where the driver of the vehicle was dropped off at Boksburg. Seroka was not available for comment.

A case of truck hijacking was opened at the Witbank Police Station.
