Helping hands aids needy school children

School shoes are sold for as little as R25 and clothes for about R10. All the proceeds go back into solidariteit projects such as a fund to help children with bursaries.

Helping hands and Solidariteit have projects all over South Africa and aid countless people on different levels but with the school year that just kicked off they recently helped children with school uniforms, shoes and stationary from their charity shop in Jennet Street.

They gave about 10 children school uniforms and stationary for the New Year.

“There are many people that come in and buy school clothes for others who need uniforms as well,” said Helene Schoeman who runs the shop.
