
With the assistance of the community police have arrested one of the suspects wanted for the theft at the ABSA ATM in Highland Mews.
On December 8 a 54-year-old woman was scammed of R3 000 after receiving assistance from a man at the ATM.
ABSA released the photos of the men suspected to be involved in the scam and police followed up on the information requesting the community to come forward with any information that might lead to the arrests of the suspects.
“We received a call from a community member saying that they knew of the men in the photos, police with the assistance of CIG went to the suspect’s home and arrested him,” said Det Const Owen Simba, investigating officer.

Witbank Police are looking for this man in connection with the theft at an ATM.
“We want to thank the community for coming forward with the information which lead to the arrest,” added Capt Eddie Hall.
The suspect was previously arrested for the same offence and was set to appear before the Witbank Magistrates Court on February 6, the case was postponed for formal bail application on February 10 and the suspect remains in custody.
In a previous comment, Capt Eddie Hall, Witbank Police communications said
“The community is warned, never to use their pin in front of someone they don’t know, even if it is bank personnel.”
