Four suspects came and turn Brazen Head upside down

As the team were preparing to lock up after the successful night, the place which offers the best Irish Pub concept was unfortunately robbed by four suspects.

As the month of love was drawing to an end Brazen Head as always brought performances as per their tradition. This time around they brought Ghapi on Friday who is a legend singing drummer. As the team were preparing to lock up after the successful night, the place which offers the best Irish Pub concept was unfortunately robbed by four suspects.

Manager of the place Mr Talent Chivige said that at 00:00 the business closed as usual and he was cashing up while some of the waiters cleaned the place and the kitchen staff was also present in the building.

The two suspects that could be in connection to Brazen Head’s robbery that took place in the early hours of Saturday, February 25.

The first load of staff members left using the front door and inside the business remained roughly eight people.
Chivige says it seems as if there was no communication between the staff members who left first and those that stayed behind if the door was locked or not when the first bunch left.

“Those that were left behind were waiting for their lift club to come pick them up.”

The person working at the bar came to Chivige and asked for the back door key in order to throw rubbish in their dustbin outside.
The man alleged that he saw a silver Golf 5 passing, however he did not make much of it as it could be people just driving past.
When he came back to hand over the keys and get his taxi fare money from Chivige, that is when the suspects walked in.

The two suspects that could be in connection to Brazen Head’s robbery that took place in the early hours of Saturday, February 25.

The person working in the bar literally stumbled across the one armed suspect as he was leaving the business’s office to go home. In the office was Chivige with his wife.

The suspect wearing a black leather jacket instructed the man to go back into the office and took the money that was lying on the table, he also helped himself to the money in the safe.
Shortly thereafter the second suspect walked in the office and he too allegedly pointed a firearm at his wife demanding she hands over money in her possession and her cell phone. The handover was done as she was shaking clearly fearing for her life.

“Whilst they were taking their belongings luckily my phone was in my trousers back pocket, so they did not see it.”

The third suspect came in and looked around and went to the bar where he took a bottle of Johnnie Walker Red Label whisky.

As the commotion went on, the fourth suspect held the rest of the staff hostage at another portion of the Irish restaurant which they call the ‘library’. There they took their cell phones and a bag which belonged to one of the woman employees with her personal belongings.

As everything was happening Chivige mentioned that the suspects ordered them not to look at them. “It will be hard to recognise them but I know one suspect was wearing a cap, the other a jacket and the other a hooded jersey.”
He takes a bit of a sigh and continues telling the story mentioning that he is okay despite the harsh incident but his wife together with some of the staff members are still traumatised.

“The trick with such tragedies is to co-operate so that you do not get harmed.”

In total they could have taken +-R14 000 and the office’s laptop.
Things are a bit hectic now as the computer had all information which assisted in the day to day running of the business, they now have to start over and organise things bit by bit.

Despite the tragedy Carolyn Haven applauded the police for a job well done after responding to their incident in time.

“How can a human being steal from someone who earns so little and works hard to afford specific possessions, how do you sleep at night?.”

It is unclear in which motor vehicle the suspects could have been travelling in.

Another business also a victim after it was robbed on Tuesday, Tuesday 21. The incident took place at Pringle Street, Extension 8. The man on duty alleged that he was alone in the shop when three suspects came in. One of them bought a cigarette which costs R2.50 and as the man was looking for it, allegedly one of them took out a firearm. The suspects ran off with cigarettes and money.
