“Please note that the licensing offices will be closed on March 6 until further notice…”

This notice was put up just after the news of the Traffic Officials that was arrested in connection with fraud and corruption.

The notice on the Department of Transport gate on Monday March 6.

After the fed up residents of eMalahleni took it further, it came to light that the shortage of face value papers were also a problem. Face Value papers are used to print on any governmental documentation. As WITBANK NEWS confronted the municipal manager, Mr. Theo van Vuuren on this matter he gave the following response,

“Please note that the licensing office will be open as normal from 13:00 on March 7. Following various administrative interruptions and amongst others the arrest of a number of staff at the centre, the municipality had to reorganise and also take stock of available resources. This led to the offices been closed today.
We will open the offices tomorrow from 13:00 onwards and all functions will be normal except on the testing function we are running with only two officials (short with three) at this stage. The face value documents was ordered and paid a long time ago and we will be receiving the next batch tomorrow morning as well. The inconvenience caused is regretted.”
