
A man was successfully arrested after the police receive a strong tip off from a resident living in Old Coronation.
On Wednesday, March 1 at 00:10 Constables on duty from Witbank Police Station received information from an informer about a certain person who lives in Old Coronation but is actually a Swaziland citizen, who was in possession of a firearm and dagga.
When the police arrived at the informer’s house, he directed them to where the suspect lives.
The police then made their way to the house. They knocked and introduced themselves to the house owner and afterwards started searching the house; they found a black bucket filled with dagga and the search continued throughout the premises. In his cupboard they found a pair of blue jeans rolled up and inside the jeans they found a gun which never had bullets.

He was then asked to produce a firearm licence which he could not so he was placed under arrest. The items were booked at Witbank Police Station as evidence.
“The police are addressing crimes where unlicensed and illegal firearms are used to commit crimes,” said Captain Eddie Hall spokesperson from Witbank Police Station.
