A collision between two vehicles claimed a life on the old Ogies Road.
On March 31 the horrific accident between a white Mercedes and Toyota Conquest that collided, left one person dead and three others seriously injured.
“I was travelling from Ogies to eMalahleni. I saw a truck in the on coming lane heading towards Ogies and pilled up traffic behind the truck. Suddenly I saw the Toyota in my lane, trying to overtake the truck but could not get back in his lane quick enough. I tried to swerve out of the way but it was too late,” the Mercedes driver, Mr Jacob Mahlangu said.
On the ambulances arrival they declared the driver of the Toyota dead and stabilized Mahlangu and the two passengers that travelled with him. The paramedic’s rushed the three seriously injured passengers to Witbank Hospital for further medical assistance.
“Everything happened so fast but I am really sad for the deceased’s family. I can only imagine how they feel right now. I injured my knee and right foot seriously, but I am recovering along with the two other passengers,” said Mahlangu.
The family of the deceased could not be reached before going to print.
