A local minibus driver was waiting patiently for passengers to climb into his vehicle when he was assaulted with a beer bottle.
The incident happened on Freedom Day April 27 at approximately 11:00, when Mr Doctor Talal (36) was sitting in his vehicle.
While waiting for passengers he noticed that one of the men that wash cars in the local taxi rank was busy smoking something.
“I then decided to play with the car wash guy and then all his dagga fell from his pocket and he got cross. I told him that I would give his money back to him for what he spent on the dagga as soon as he got his money from the passengers,” said Talal.

As Talal turned around in the minibus, the other person grabbed a broken beer bottle and hit Talal over the head through the window.
“I touched the back of my head and I had blood over my fingers,” said Talal.
Talal was then accompanied to Witbank Provincial Hospital by a friend.
Once at the hospital, he received three stitches to his head.
Allegedly the suspect was arrested and was released from police custody.
“I am back at work but my head still hurts,” concluded Talal.
