Suspect caught inside wendy

If at first you don’t succeed – a saying that motivates you to try again and again. Well one suspect did just this as he made five attempts to burgle a wendy house.

On Monday, April 24, a suspect was caught in the act of breaking into the wendy house of Ms Amanda Oosthuizen.

“I saw him climbing the wall on Wednesday and try to break into the Wendy, I was in the house and I screamed at him, he ran off. He tried again the Thursday and Friday and both times failed again,” she said.

Oosthuizen added that at the time she didn’t know that the suspect had already broken into the wendy house and stolen valuables – this she only found out on Monday when he was caught and arrested.

“I was working in the kitchen and heard the dogs barking again, he was at my door. I peeped through the window and saw him at the door, my dog was biting him and he didn’t even flinch,” said Oosthuizen.

Oosthuizen explained how the suspect jumped through the window of the wendy house and was in the process of stealing the microwave when she screamed, waking her son.

“We kept furniture and appliances in the wendy. My son woke up and ran out giving chase. He found the suspect hiding in the back room of the empty house next door,” she said.

Oosthuizen called the neighbourhood watch. Within minutes they arrived at Oosthuizen’s home and took the suspect into custody. They were able to recover a tent and her husband’s fishing equipment.
