While one will always expect good behaviour in any hospital, it was not the case with the Mtsweni family. Witbank Police are investigating a case of common assault.
This came after Mr Nel Mtsweni alleged that he was attacked with his two daughters by security officers at Witbank Hospital gate.
Mtsweni alleged that he was at the hospital to drop his wife who works at the hospital. After a confrontation with the security officers he asked to see their supervisor because he wanted to complain to him about their behaviour.
Mtsweni further stated that they always have a problem with the security guards every time he came to the hospital.
It is alleged that the security officers started shouting and threatening to assault Mtsweni and his daughters.
While all this was happening his two daughters tried to take photos of the confrontation and they were assaulted with a baton by the security officers according to Mtsweni.
Mtsweni further said they broke one of the daughter’s glasses, his watch as well as his car keys which were damaged. The value of the damaged items is worth R8 600.
The two suspects have been arrested, one aged 39-years-old and the other 28-years-old have appeared in court and their next appearance is on Tuesday, July 18.
