Drugs fell like dominoes

The past week police were on a roll yet again to prevent drugs from spreading in eMalahleni.

On July 6 drug dealers in the CBD (Central Business District) literally fell like dominoes.

Sequentially, one by one were swept of the street. In the first incident the SAPS officials on duty did their patrol through Lewis Street when they spotted a suspicious man. After they stopped and introduced themselves he gave the drugs in his possession over to the police.

He was arrested and the drugs were booked into SAP 13.

Giving the police an easy arrest the following arrests made on the same day were not that easy as the suspect started running away after he saw a SAPS vehicle.

The police caught up with the suspect and found six pinches of drugs hidden away in his jacket. The wrapped drugs were confiscated and taken to the police station along with the arrested drug dealer.

Walking with a pinch in his pocket and a poke in his hand the third suspect was caught dealing in drugs at the CBD bus rank; he was approached by police who arrested him after finding the drugs with a street value of R500.

“Witbank SAPS will continue cleaning up our city from drugs, users and dealers must take note that SAPS Witbank will use all our resources to make sure that they are arrested and face the full force of the law,” the Witbank Police Station’s spokesperson Cpt Eddie Hall concluded.
